A vague request is a normal first email. You do not need a spec, a budget or the right vocabulary — the symptom in your own words is enough to work with. If we are the wrong people to ask, the reply says so.

What to write

Whatever you already have is enough to start — files and screenshots are welcome. A subject line you can copy, and three things worth mentioning:

Not sure which of these it is

Subject A situation I would like a second pair of eyes on

  • What is breaking, or what keeps needing a person — in your own words
  • Roughly how much of the business it touches
  • Anything you can attach: files, screenshots, a link

Process & workflow automation

Subject A process that still runs by hand

  • Which process, and what a person does in it every time
  • The systems it moves data between
  • What happens today when something does not fit the normal path

Controlled AI delivery

Subject AI-built code I cannot ship yet

  • What was built, and what makes you hesitate to release it
  • What already exists: tests, reviews, a staging environment
  • You do not need to give anyone repo access to start — a description, screenshots or the last incident is enough

Cloud infrastructure & DevOps

Subject Infrastructure nobody can safely change

  • What runs where, as far as you know it
  • What happens today when a release goes wrong
  • Who holds the knowledge now, and what is written down

Security & compliance readiness

Subject A security questionnaire blocking a contract

  • What is being asked, and who is asking
  • Which systems and data the answer would have to cover
  • Whatever you can share of the document itself

Talent: recruiting and contract staffing

Subject A role we need to fill

  • The role, the stack and the seniority, in your own words
  • Where the team works from, and whether you hire directly or need a contractor
  • What has been tried so far; no candidate CVs or personal data at this stage

After you send the email

  1. It lands with an engineer Not a sales desk. A person reads it before anything is sent back.
  2. It gets read against the work The symptom, roughly how much of the business it touches, whatever you attached. No call needed yet.
  3. You get a reply within working hours Either a private link to book a free 30-minute fit call, or a straight "this isn't our profile" — with a pointer elsewhere when we have one.
  4. Then the entry is paid and bounded The entry is paid, fixed-scope work — a diagnostic, a review or a second opinion. One defined question, one written document saying what we found and what we would do about it, and — where the case allows — in what order. Then a decision: continue to build, or stop with the findings.

You will not be sold to. The engineer you talk to on the fit call is the engineer responsible for the work, end to end.
